Indian Beach Resort has been holding semi annual
catfish derbies for over 10 years. We have a spring derby in May and
our fall derby is held in October. You have to be a guest of Indian
Beach Resort to enter. There is a small entry fee of $25 per person
and all fees collected are paid back as cash prizes. Everyone seems
to enjoy these contests whether they weigh in a catfish or not. It's
all about getting on the water, soaking some bait and having some fun. |

It was another great derby, we had 37 entries, $900 collected and
all paid back as cash prizes. There were some big fish caught during
this derby, lots of 10 to 15 lbers. Sandy Cortez caught the big one,
an 18 lber off of Windflower Point using cut bait. As always,
everyone had a great time. |
